Realtor branding photos start long before the camera comes out. Joey Short is a broker with Coldwell Banker Advantage here in Fayetteville, NC. He was born and raised in this town, and it is home. So when he told me his photos no longer looked like him, he wasn’t shopping for a quick fix. He wanted images that matched the person his clients meet at the closing table, and he wanted them to be real.

A lot of agents are trying AI headshots right now. Joey knew that, and he told me straight out it was not where he wanted to go. Real estate runs on trust, and in a town this size, people know your face before they ever call you. If the photo on the sign doesn’t match the person who shows up, you have a problem before you say hello. Joey’s whole business sits on being the same guy everywhere, so his photos had to be him.
Before Joey booked anything, we spent a good while on the phone. I asked how he works, who he serves, and where these images would live. That call shapes the whole session, because a branding session without a plan is just a long headshot.
After he booked, I sent him a digital mood board built from that conversation. It had links, ideas and a color direction pulled from what he told me, so he could react to it before he ever packed a bag. By the time he walked into my studio, we both knew what we were making and why.
Joey booked the Brand Builder, which gave us 90 minutes in my studio on Raeford Road. I had the room set and the coffee made before he came through the door, because nobody does their best work rushed.
Here is the part my clients like most. Every time I got a frame I loved, we stopped and I showed it to him. He saw his session come together in real time, shot by shot, so nothing about the final gallery came as a surprise. He agreed with my favorites, which I’ll take as a win, and he chose his headshots before he left.

His headshots went out the same day. The rest of his collection follows within five business days, and together they give him a full set to pull from all year: his listings, his social pages, his signs, his email signature and every place his name shows up in Fayetteville. That is the difference between a headshot for a real estate agent and a full set of realtor branding photos. A headshot gives you one strong image, and a branding session gives you a whole library that looks like you.
If your photos are a few years old, or you have been tempted by the AI version, this is what the real thing looks like. You can read more about how personal branding photography works in my studio. I book Brand Builder sessions all year, so pick the day that works for you and book your branding session here.
